Welcome To Club Working!

Welcome to Club Working!

Office life has changed beyond all recognition since I first began in business in 1979. If you’re a small team, a hedge fund, a brokerage or have reached the stage of a portfolio career, organising an office is a time-consuming issue.

There’s the lease, the insurance, the decoration or even an interior re-design involved, to make it fit your purpose. Even then you’ve a front of house to organise and you’ll need to think about things like are you in the right area for the best restaurants and bars when it comes to entertaining?

So what are your options? There are serviced offices of course, such as Regus (now IWG) founded in 1989, but they are styled on the same faceless office you had in the city and were originally conceived as a serviced “temporary” office to work from rather than your hotel room or the local coffee shop.

There is co-working of course, WeWork being the biggest by far, where today’s young business leaders and startups can expect to move into a smart, clean modern environment with a snack bar, access to meeting rooms and a weekly events schedule, all for a reasonable monthly fee the day after they sign the contract. However if you’re not working in the startup world then it’s probably not fit for purpose.

Then there are the private member’s clubs springing up all over London, but despite the best efforts of Soho House, there hasn’t really been a seamless offering that offers the best of both a club and a dedicated working space. Until now.

12 Hay Hill is based in the centre of Mayfair, London’s HNWI district. The boutiques of Bond Street and Mount Street are a stones throw away. In keeping with it’s location it offers what they call “club-working” – the marriage of a co-working space and a private members club.

12 Hay Hill members are offered an exclusive office address, front of house staff, one of the best in-house restaurants and a welcoming bar run by award-winning head barman, Tomas Cisty. A roof terrace opens in the Spring where the cigar concierge can tempt you with a range of cigars and matching rums, whiskies and brandies.

The private offices are sandwiched between the front of house, the restaurant, the co-working spaces on the mezzanine and the bar on the lower ground floors and the top floor lounge / co -working space. Both floors have separate meeting rooms to book and there are two larger “Salon Privé’s” on the ground and lower ground floors for private lunches and dinners.

Along with the monthly Thursday member events of the wine club, cocktail club, supper club and members drinks there are thought leadership events led by Salon London and Like Minds to keep you entertained and up-to-date with what’s happening in the business world. It’s the perfect combination for both work and entertaining. With 24hr security front of house, you can be sure everything is safe and secure.
